Hike #71

Hike 71
10/8/2
I had been telling Cathy about the Warren Hills hike for some time now, so I decided to
bring her on it, now knowing the correct route to walk.
We begun as before, heading uphill through Beaver Brook WMA, only now with
beautiful fall foliage.

We were able to cross Jenny Jump Mountain much easier this time, but decided not to do
the long loop Tea Biscuit and I used previously. We made our way down, and walked a
section of path along Mountain Lake to a dead end street, then out the roads as we did
previously to Buttsville. Next, we began following the Lehigh and Oxford line south; we
asked the woman who lived at the farmhouse along the right of way if it would be alright
to pass through, and she said yes. We continued in through the meadows to East Quarry
Road, then made our way to the cornfields to access the next section.
Cathy was not up for jumping the bridge site as Tea Biscuit and I did before, so she
walked down and around.
We continued through Oxford and the Iron Mines Railroad to Jonestown Road, passed
through Griffith Woods and Lake Marguerrite, then Lannings Terrace as before. We
walked across the golf course to Pohatcong Creek Natural Area once again, and came out
behind Warren Hills High School. Rathern than walking the 2.5 miles back to our home,
we called my mom to come and pick us up. Still, we’d covered considerable distance!
