On the AT near Wind Gap

For another weekday trip, I brought Cathy on the Wind Gap hike, finishing at the

Delaware Water Gap.

Cathy hates uphills, but handled the climb from Wind Gap well.

All went well on the way to Wolf Rocks, though it took forever. This is in my opinion the

absolute worst section of the AT, from Wind Gap to the Wolf Rocks. All the little sharp

rocks were terrible. When you get north of Wolf Rocks it gets better, it being the

southernmost point of glaciation on the AT.

Oh yeah, we took a break at the Nelson Retreat, that’s where we got the water, then

walked along Kirkridge past the Nelson Vista and on to the Water Gap. It was dark by the

time we’d got there, and we had to make our way down the Minsi Fire Road in the dark,

Cathy yelling “I HATE THIS” the entire way. It was a good thing getting back to the car!
