For this one Cathy and I walked through Hackettstown a bit, and then got on the former Morris and Essex tracks heading east. We followed them out across the Musconetcong Trestle (quickly between commuter trains) and out toward Waterloo Junction. When we got to that point we headed down hill and followed the original abandoned westbound track right of way, and checked out the foundations of what was probably the station, and even found the old turntable pit!

Soon we had to return to the active tracks, but along the way there was a section of the Morris Canal closely parallel that I had never walked, so we opted to backtrack this section. I was surprised to find it reletively clear and led to the top of former Inclined Plane #3 West! It still had sleeper stones for the rails in place. We walked it a bit before returning to the tracks near the Stanhope Station. Just beyond here the tracks went by a pond and some paths for International Trade Center, so we walked some of those before returning to the tracks.

When we reached Netcong Station we walked roads to Lake Musconetcong and wandered around for a bit. We could see the guard lock site at Lake Musconetcong, all filled in sadly. We walked around for a bit before returning to the station, and I believe we took a train back to Hackettstown to get to the car.
