Hike #134; Delaware Water Gap to Wind Gap

 Hike #134

Hike 134

!

The beginning, Resort Point

5/11/4

For this next hike, I once again recruited Chris Jones and Rich Nielson to do the hike

between the Delaware Water Gap and Wind Gap.

At the ruins of the Kittatinny House kitchen where Caldeno Creek passed under it, Resort Point in PA

We spotted mine and Rich’s cars at either end, and then began at Resort Point in the water

gap. We first checked out a bit of the foundation of the Kittatinny House which stood here,

then immediatley crossed Rt 611, heading uphill to Lake Lenape. I picked up a turtle along

the shore, there were a lot of them. We circled the lake and climbed up to Table Rock,

soon making our way up Minsi Fire Road to the AT, and then the top of Mt Minsi.

We continued along the AT, departing briefly to explore the cave at Totts Gap. Just past Totts

Gap I began drinking my bottle of Arbor Mist I had brought. We made a stop at the Lunch

Rocks where the view was very clear. Spirits were still high, but we were already getting

tired by the time we reached the Nelson Vista.

As always, I felt alright for the most part until we got past the Wolf Rocks after Fox Gap.

The pointly little rocks on the treadway of the trail make that section the worst section of

the AT I had walked to date. It’s strange that I led this hike over and over again

regardless...
