Hike #89; Teetertown to Hackettstown

 Hike #89

Hike 89

.

Near our beginning, Mountain Farm

5/4/3

I had wanted to bring Cathy on the “Mid Skylands” hike from Teetertown to

Hackettstown for a while now, and Al Eisberg and his girlfriend, Jenny Walsh were both

into going, so we left Cathy’s car at Shop Rite in Mansfield, and took Al’s jeep to

Teetertown Ravine. Cathy was mad at me because I made a comment that we have a lady

in the car, meaning Jenny, and did’nt mention Cathy. An honest slip of words, but Cathy

was angry at me the entire day. Maybe we used my car...I don’t remember how it worked.

In Teetertown Ravine

At Mountain Farm

Beginning at the Ravine this time instead of the Mountain Farm, we walked up the White

Trail to the Mountain Farm, and then looped around to the Blue Trail down to

Teetertown.

It was a lovely day, and the leaves were just starting to bud.

We followed the same route as always, and made our way along roads to Crestmoore and

the CNJ High Bridge Branch/Colombia Trail. Al was dragging pretty bad, and by the time

we reached Long Valley, he could’nt go on. He called his parents for a ride, and offered to

drive Cathy and I back at the end if we called him.

Cathy and I continued north along the Patriot’s Path over Schooley’s Mountain, and then

descended into Hackettstown. We came out behind Heath Village where I believe we used

the phone to call Al. We then walked down to Schooley’s Mountain Road, along a nice

white fenceline to Newburg Road where Al picked us up.
