Hike #169; Delaware Water Gap to Wind Gap

 Hike #169

On Table Rock

4/26/5

Delaware Water Gap-Wind Gap with Gerry Martiniak, Stacy Scarpino, Scott McCracken, and Marvin Venable

This was another hike where the journal was lost for it to the fire. Maybe someone will find a copy of it along the way, at which time I'll paste it onto here, but I'll just slap in what I remember.

I remember it being unusually hot for the time of Spring. There were three newcomers, and Gerry was the only Helbing Hike veteran.

I wore my nice blue blazer with a tie and everything because I thought it would be colder, but it ended up being very hot, and so I regretted it. We met in Wind Gap in the morning, then shuttled a car to Resort Point in Delaware Water Gap on the PA side. I related some of the history of the area before we headed up toward the Appalachian Trail. The water was flowing real nice along Caldeno Creek.

I also took the group up to Table Rock to do something a bit different. Seems like no one ever goes up there.

It was a Spring day when it seemed like everything was starting to bloom. We could see it below, but not up on the ridge. I remember Stacy saying something about wanting to have a butt kicking hike, and that she'd requested off of work to do this one (it was a weekday I had off) , and she got what she wished, though by the end she did'nt seem so happy she'd wished for it.

It was a good time to do this hike because we actually had a bit of a view when we got to Wind Gap through the trees. Normally that section is so boring.
