Hike #136; Washington and Bridgeville Area

 Hike #136

6/6/4

Former LHR railroad at Pequest

I felt that I had a serious lack of hiking lately; I had just begun working at Taylor Rental

in Washington and was working a minimum of 50 hours a week, sometimes 60, and I was

still working in the 1 Hour Photo Center at Wal Mart on some nights.

On this occasion, I had to work a Sunday morning at Taylor Rental setting up a tent at

M&M Mars corperation in Hackettstown. Cathy was fortunitely willing to do a walk with

me after I was done with work. I talked to my mom, and she agreed to pick us up later in

the day.

We walked from our house into Washington, following motorcycle paths along the

DL&W right of way, then continueing into Oxford. We climbed up, then walked the

highway over the tunnel, then stopped for drinks in Oxford. We continued to Lower

Denmark Road, and out to Pequest where we got on the former L&HR Railroad

following it out to near Bridgeville, then walked the highway a bit for my mom to pick us

up. We took it easy on this one, walking off the path to the old farm site, and across the

bridge at Buttsville. I was just happy to get out and have the opportunity to walk a bit.

PICS! Here's a link to where you'll find all of them followed by descriptions.
