This hike marked a return of my good buddy Skyler, Mr. Buckett who was on my second AMC hike, Beth from the previous week who brought a friend, Ron who I'd met through Rich Pace, and one newcomer who's name is lost because I don't have the trip report any more.
It was another hike I'd done in the past, with Tea Biscuit and Kyle Gruter-Curham, but this time I wanted to show the area to the new group.
We began in Walpack Center and headed up hill on the old road to the northwest and took the first branch of the Walpack Ridge Trail out to Thunder Mountain which was some sort of art studio. We went into the old barns and checked out these weird chairs with pottery tacked to it in the middle of a field. We then walked Thunder Mountain Road to Kuhn Road into Peter's Valley Craft Village (Layton area). We walked down the road a bit and checked out the church, then took the dirt road into Flatbrook/Roy Wildlife Management Area. We crossed the old truss bridge and turned left on Creek Road toward Rt 206. Skyler, Beth, and I tried jogging for a bit, just for fun, which was nice. We went through the one abandoned house on this stretch, and then took a break at a nice swimming hole below the road in the Flat Brook. There was a fisherman in there who did'nt seem to care much, but it made for an uncomfortable feeling a bit.

After our dip we stopped at a pizza place near 206 I think for lunch, then headed up 206 to make a turn onto Steffen Trail in Stokes State Forest, entering near what seemed to be a pine plantation. This took us along a little ridge to Coss Road I think, a dirt road. We turned left and where Coss Road met Woods Road, another abandoned dirt road, we continued straight on the narrow and steep Jacob's Ladder Trail. This took us up to the AT which we followed southbound passing by a view of Lake Owassa. We continued to Brink Road, another dirt road, down to the shelter. After another break we turned right on Shay Trail, a dirt road to a paved road section. We turned right, then followed Stoll Trail to Struble Road which was paved at this point. Struble Road was only paved for a bit, and it's original route was now just a woods path leading down to Creek Road. We took this. It looked like someone had been doing some timber felling along the old road.
Once at the bottom we turned left and soon reached the abandoned house just before Walpack Cemetary. We of course went all through it again, and it was in much worse shape than it was when I was there a few years earlier with Tea Biscuit and Kyle.

After exploring we headed back to Walpack Center to complete the hike. I had gotten a call later that the guy who's name I did'nt have did'nt show up at home right away. I never heard anything more about it so I assume he showed up!
