Hike #128
Hike 128
It's still so crazy to look back on these journal entries...the thoughts going on at the time were so much different. At the time of this hike, and I guess even when I wrote this entry, I did'nt realize how much my hikes would change in the coming months and years. There was always "turnover", people would come out on a few hikes and then disappear. I was having trouble getting people to join me, and so often it would be only Tea Biscuit, or my ex girlfriend Cathy and I out exploring.
This would be the last time Tea Biscuit and I did a full hike together alone for the remainder of the decade. It would'nt be long before I'd have the biggest groups ever.

For my next hike, I was able to convince Tea Biscuit to scout the first section of the
Delaware Canal with me, from the park office at Lodi PA to it’s terminus in Easton. The
canal had recently been refurbished with a crushed stone surface, which I always found to
be uncomfortable, but the pathway was clear and easy, and we anticipated being able to
finish the hike quickly.
We spotted our cars at either end, and began walking north along a beautiful canal
section. It was particularly nice as there was water in the canal the entire way.
I found the most beautiful part of the hike to be the Nockamixon Cliffs; the snow was
melting off and there were several waterfalls flowing off the ledges.
When we reached Rieglesville PA, across from Rieglesville NJ, we decided to stop in at a
Mini Mart to get some junk food, and we talked to a cute young girl who told us she took
revealing pictures of herself she wanted developed. I offered to develope them for her at
Mansfield Wal Mart, but never saw her.
We continued north to Easton very quickly as I recall. A fast hike with nice scenery.
